The role and expectations of Trivia minions

The role and expectations of the Trivia Minions are clear and simple. The purpose is simply to state these as clearly as humanly possible, to ensure that you know what's expected of you. ALL minions are expected to fulfill the following.

  • Questions:
The main role of the minion is to submit, every week, 10 questions to the Division Leader via email. These are essential to the continued success of Trivia and the live events. If, without good reason, you miss THREE consecutive sets of questions then the Trivia command reserve the right to dismiss you from the team. The same applies if you miss five sets of questions within two months.
Either type them directly into the body of an email, or attach them in a .txt (Notepad) file. Further help can be found here.

  • Events:
As a member of the Trivia team you are also expected to, if possible, help with hosting and/or assisting of Trivia events. This is the best way to publically show to the powers-that-be that you are a hard working minion, thus greatly increasing your chances of reward.

  • Leave:
If, for whatever reason, you find that you need to take a brief period of leave, you will take it upon yourself to inform BOTH your Divsion Leader and Team Leader/Assistant Team Leader. When you take a period of leave, you are NOT expected to submit questions. However, continual taking of leave for the sole purpose of escaping work will lead to dismissal.

  • Reports:
Every month, every member of the department will submit an End of Month Report by the 10th. Failure to comply with this will severly hamper your chances of promotion as your work will not be submitted for consideration, nor would your hours worked. This means it is in your best interest to submit a report on time. However, it must be noted, that continous and/or prolonged missing of reports will lead to dismissal. The current cut-off is if you miss THREE consecutive reports, it will be dismissal.
If you have a problem with submitting reports, please let the Team Leader know about it. You won't be held responsible for the form malfunctioning, not knowing what to do, or anything like that!

    Dismissal/Warning Procedure

If the Division Leader believes that a member of their division is under performing or not fulfilling their duties, then they can, at their own discretion, issue a warning to the member. There is a clear policy that applies to all of the minions in this case:

  • Polite Reminder:
This is considered the 'first warning' or an 'informal warning' and will be a polite reminder sent by the Division Leader asking if their is a problem and letting the member know they have a concern with regards to their work and effort. If you have a problem with your work or any concerns at all, this gives you a chance to discuss and address them.

  • Official Warning:
This is considered the 'second warning' and is a more stern email sent by the Division Leader. This will clearly state the nature of the concern and that there has been no marked improvement following the polite reminder. This will, hopefully, be as far as the process will go.

If this is not enough, and there is still a concern, then the Assistant Team Leader or the Team Leader, will be made aware of the problem and decide on the appropiate action. Usually, this will be having discussions with the member in question. Again, this will hopefully cure the problem. However, if this does not improve the situation, then the Assistant Team Leader and the Team Leader reserve the right to dismiss the member from the team.
